Puppy Jr. & Puppy Sr.

PUPPY JUNIOR (8-16 weeks)

This class is designed specifically for young pups who are just starting out on their training journey.  The goal is to build confidence,  encourage play and exploration of sounds, sights and learning how to socialize. This class also will start your pup off on the right foot (paw) to help build good manners.

Each week combines short lessons, fun games, and exploration time so learning stays upbeat and age- appropriate. Our focus is on developing engagement , trust, and teamwork - before obedience becomes "work"

Why it's beneficial:

* Socialization at this age prevents fear and reactivity later in life

* Builds confidence and adaptability so your puppy can handle the world around them.

*You'll learn how to respond to respond to puppy challenges with patience and consistency

* Early training builds habits that make future classes easier and more successful

Skills covered:

*Name recognition & recall foundations

*Handling for vet/grooming comfort

*Loose leash beginnings

*Sit, down, settle on a mat

*Confidence games and positive exposure

PUPPY SENIOR ( 4-6 MONTHS)

Puppy Senior bridges the gap between early puppy training and formal obedience. This 6 week course is for slightly older puppies who are gaining independence and energy- often referred to as the "teenage stage" We'll focus on strengthening attention, teaching manners in real life situations, and laying the groundwork for advanced obedience. Training is still playful and positive, but with more structure and expectations than Puppy JR.

Why not skip straight to Level 1?

Level 1 is designed for adult beginners, not adolescent puppies. Puppy Senior focuses on shorter exercises, higher energy outlets, and problem solving for puppy specific challenges like jumping, chewing, and distracted leash walking. It gives your dog the foundation to succeed in Level 2, saving frustration (and set backs) for both you and your pup.

Why it's beneficial:

*Helps manage the "teenage puppy" phase, when many dogs start testing limits

*Strengthens recall and focus in distracting environments

*Builds impulse control for polite greeting, waiting at doors, and ignoring distractions

*Prepares your puppy to move smoothly into Level 2 Obedience - without needing Level 1

Skills covered:

*Leash walking

*Sit stays and down stays

*Recall games with added distractions

*Polite greetings (no jumping)

*Impulse control & leave it

*Building calm behavior around people and other dogs
